The moving part about music is that it has the power to open our creative minds. I believe the creativity that went into the making of music moves us and speaks to our artistic core.
I honestly believe I would not be able to create the pieces I do without the wonderful assistance of musicians through the ages. I’ve invested in a great Solo Arcam system and while this is obviously not the cheapest solution on the market, it was not my intention to compromise on this. Arcam makes magnificent system with deep wonderful sounds.
I’ve wired and connected speakers throughout my house and into my studio as well put two on my pickup’s tailgate. I do a lot of my painting outside on my patio and sometimes in a little shed in the backyard. For this purpose I’ve also installed the best outdoor speakers I could afford and have never looked back. I simply love flooding my backyard with my favorite tunes. Check out the sites below for more information:
Below are the best songs and music for painting. One of the things that I like to do is strap on my Bose headphones and spend hours painting. Here is what I listen to.
Inspirational and feel-good music
Inspirational music can instantly lift your spirits and get your creative juices flowing. An inspirational song that almost everyone has heard is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. There is a whimsical and soft feeling about this song that can make you feel like a kid. No matter how hard your day is, you will feel better when you listen to a song about the beautiful place over the rainbow. A song that will help you feel happy is “It’s a Beautiful Day” by U2.
The best part about this song is that it encourages you to appreciate and make the most out of every single day. It’ll inspire you to paint pretty pictures of flowers, people, and landscape. “Walking On Sunshine” is a recognizable song that is commonly played during the happy endings in movies. It is extremely upbeat and will help you feel energized. A modern day artist that you should look into if you like inspirational music is Lady Gaga. She is a great artist to listen to because she encourages everyone to be themselves.
Some of the greatest hits of all time make the most magical music to pair with painting. “What a Wonderful World” will help you appreciate your surroundings and create gorgeous artwork. “It’s My Life” by Bon Jovi is the ideal song for someone who wants to pursue their dream in painting. The song is upbeat and talks about living life the way that you want to live it. It is widely believed that listening to Mozart while trying to focus can strengthen your mind.
Energetic and fast paced music is perfect for someone who wants some motivation to get painting. A song that can definitely help you get going is “Eye of the Tiger”. The song is action packed and exciting. Hip hop can be a great genre for someone who wants to feel awake while they work. “Jump Around” by House of Pain will literally make you want to jump out of your seat and start painting. There is also a strong association between hip hop music and graffiti artwork.
One of the best music genres to listen to when you want to be creative is jazz. Some of the best jazz songs to listen to include “Strange Fruit” by Billy Holiday, “My Funny Valentine” by Chet Baker, “Fever” by Peggy Lee, “Route 66” by Nat King Cole, and “Georgia on My Mind” by Ray Charles. Jimmy Reed is also an outstanding jazz musician. Some of his most popular songs include “Bright Lights, Big City” and “Baby you don’t Have to Go”. His style can be perfect for painters because it is easy going compared to other jazz musicians. He recorded the “Big Boss Man” in 1960. This song has been redone by Elvis Presley, Bobbie Gentry, and the Sons of Champlain. The best part about jazz music is the instruments. The musicians who performed jazz had to be extremely skilled in order to keep up with the fast speed and sound perfectly with the other instruments.
Listening to music while you paint can help you create amazing artwork. It can open your mind and help you forget about the rest of the world.
